Cameroon often referred to as Africa in miniature. The country is full of melting and contrasting views, which provide tourists with a unique spectacle. This ancestral land relies on a symbiosis between sea and desert, waterfalls and Sahara area, moderate climate in the South and great heat in the North. Is a very special country with over 250 ethic groups and 10 regions. Each ethnic group has their own cultural identity and tradition. We will visit the Bamoun group in the west of the country and discover one of the best cultural festival in the country.

The Bamum people are a Grassfields ethnic group in Cameroon, known for over 600-year-old kingdom, distinct artistic traditions, and the unique Shüpamom language. Founded in 1394 by King Ncharé Yen, the Bamoun Kingdom instituted the NGUON as a community governance mechanism, for social regulation and celebration of the Kingdom's founding values. Born from a quest for land, unity and cohesion, the Bamoun Kingdom structured itself around principles of symbiosis, balance and collective responsibility, symbolized by the beetle, emblem of the NGUON. Banned between 1924 and 1960 by the colonial administration, the NGUON was rehabilitated after Cameroon's independence, then institutionalized in 1992 as the Great Traditional, Cultural and Economic Days of the Bamoun people, and officially inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in December 2023.
